Helping Hand Local is a directory that connects residents with local businesses and community helpers. We list information provided by businesses and do not endorse or guarantee the quality, licensing or workmanship of any service. We are not a party to any agreement between you and a business listed on the platform.
Business owners are responsible for keeping their listings accurate. Listings must describe your own real business or service. Two listing types exist: ABN Businesses (commercial businesses and sole traders with an ABN) and Community Helpers (non-ABN casual or community providers). Community Helpers are clearly labelled and are not ABN-verified. We may remove listings that are misleading, duplicate, or breach these terms.
Where a business provides an ABN, our team checks that the ABN matches the business registration information before showing an 'ABN Verified' badge. ABN Verified confirms business registration information only. It does not guarantee licensing, insurance, workmanship, police checks, or service quality, and Helping Hand Local has not assessed any of these unless expressly stated.
Customers can post a request describing what they need. We attempt to match requests to eligible local businesses and notify them. We do not guarantee that any business will respond, that responses represent quotes or offers, or that a match is suitable. Private contact details are never stored on the request — businesses respond through the platform and you choose who to contact.
Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experiences. One review per customer per business applies. Businesses may not offer payment or incentives for reviews. We may remove reviews we believe are fake, abusive, off-topic or otherwise in breach of these terms. Reviews are the opinions of their authors, not of Helping Hand Local.
Paid plans (Local Pro and Local Plus) are billed monthly in AUD via Stripe and may be cancelled at any time. Every newly ABN-verified business receives 60 days of Local Plus free, starting from the date its ABN verification is approved. The trial requires no card, is never automatically charged, and creates no subscription; when it ends, the business continues on the Free plan unless it chooses a paid plan. Card details are handled by Stripe — we do not store your full card details. Entitlements end when a paid subscription is cancelled or lapses; your listing, ABN Verified status, reviews and other data remain.
You won't use the platform to harass others, post unlawful or misleading content, scrape data, or interfere with its operation. We may suspend access for serious or repeated breaches.
The platform is provided 'as is'. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for loss arising from your use of the platform or from dealings with businesses or community helpers listed on it.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
